London – 4th September 2023: London Biggin Hill Airport has appointed Matthew Amer as its new Head of Public Affairs & Community Engagement.

In this newly created position, Matthew will be responsible for engaging with national and local politicians, government departments and other key stakeholders on a wide range of aviation policy issues. He will also spearhead all activities that relate to the airport’s local community outreach, including all STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) initiatives.

Matthew joins London Biggin Hill Airport from the London Borough of Bromley, where he was the council’s Senior Public Affairs and Airport Monitoring Officer. He brings more than 20 years’ knowledge working in engagement and communications roles to this important position at Biggin Hill Airport, having gained a wealth of experience at companies including London & Partners, Society of London Theatre and as a freelance consultant.
