At London Biggin Hill, we’re passionate about inspiring the next generation of aviation professionals. We offer a wide range of opportunities, for local young people, working together with our resident aerospace businesses to encourage and develop the aspirations of young people, from all backgrounds, as they consider their futures.

We provide a number of early career opportunities, with our Unite to Inspire programme, that aim to unlock potential and present a useful stepping-stone between education and starting a career.

Futures Week

Our Futures Weeks are aimed at young people, aged 15-18 years, who are considering a career within the aviation industry. Students spend a week with us, here at the airport, and experience a range of interactive activities and careers advice, talks from inspirational people and immersive visits to our resident aerospace companies.

During the week, the group visit a number of our departments to gain hands-on experience in different aspects of aviation – including Customer Service, Ground Operations, Rescue & Firefighting and Security, to name a few.

Our next work experience week will take place from 15th – 19th July 2024. Applications are now closed, and interviews will be held on 21st & 22nd February.

Application Process

To apply, students must submit the following via email to [email protected]

  • 250 word explanation as to why you would like to take part in the week
  • Your place of study

Applications are then shortlisted, candidates are invited to an interview and 15 places are awarded.

Taster Days

We facilitate taster days to give local young people an opportunity to explore the world of aviation. These experiences are tailored to the individual or group and provide a small flavour of our Futures Week initiative. This element is suitable for school groups, youth organisations and individuals considering a specific role within the industry.

Working in Schools

We regularly visit local schools and youth organisations to support careers days, assemblies and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) events to promote early career choices.
