London Biggin Hill Airport is a growing business that strives to be London’s preeminent full-service business aviation airport and understands the importance of a proactive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) approach. We believe that when our business prospers so too does our local communities.

Just 12 miles from Canary Wharf and 15 miles from Central London, London Biggin Hill has two full service FBOs catering to every want and need for the business aviation user.

There are very few places in the world other than London Biggin Hill, where Business and Private Aviation manufacturers and operators can conduct all aspects of their business: operations, management and maintenance, ability to expand and develop over time.

It is close to two mainline railway stations each with frequent 15-minute non-stop rail services into Central London and is a 25 minute drive time linking us to the high speed European rail network.
In addition, Biggin Hill allows the fastest touch down to downtown time at any London Airport using its dedicated London Heli Shuttle service taking just 6 minutes.

Our People are our most important asset here at London Biggin Hill airport, in 2015 we made a commitment to increase the number of jobs to 2,300 across the airport in partnership with our tenant companies. The airport has increased its employees from 72 in 2015 to over 170 in 2020.

Making a Complaint

How can a complaint be made ?

The easiest way for a complaint to be made is by using the Webtrak system, this has a simple form that is designed to ensure we have all of the required information to process your complaint including data gathered by Webtrak to help us investigate the cause of your complaint.

A telephone message line, 01959 578580, can also be used to register a complaint that does not relate to a specific aircraft movement, please include details on how we can contact you with a response. If a complainant submits a complaint about an aircraft that is more than 7 days after the event took place this will not warrant a response, nor will it be recorded as a complaint.

We aim to respond to all complaints within 10 working days dependant on the complexity of the complaint and the method used to submit the complaint.

How do we process complaints

Radical changes were made in 2015 to the way in which aircraft operate to and from the airport following the increase in operating hours, these include Noise Sensitive Areas (NSA) covering local towns and villages and a reduction and restrictions to circuit flights, “see what is a circuit”. But we must accept that we will still receive complaints from local residents that need to be investigated and action taken if there has been a breach of local flying protocols. 

All complaints received are investigated using air traffic data and Webtrak before being reviewed by the airport’s CEO who will respond to the complainant in writing. The following highlights the stages through which we process your complaint:  

  • Stage 1: Compliant received and acknowledged  
  • Stage 2: Initial Investigation regarding compliance/non compliance  
  • Stage 3: Response advising compliance or further review by SANARB  
  • Stage 4: Further investigation   
  • Stage 5: Post SANARB outcome  

We would hope to get Stage 3 responses to residents within 14 days.  We would hope to get Stage 5 responses back to residents within 8 weeks, which allows for pilots and operators to respond to SANARB requests for additional information and for all elements of ta potential noncompliance to be fully investigated.  

All personal information relating to the complainant is redacted before it is passed to SANARB and the Noise Sub Committee. A record is kept of all complaints for a period of five years and is included in the noise and safety sub committee report to the quarterly Airport Consultative Committee.

Safety and Noise Abatement Review Board

SANARB meet monthly and is made up of an independent chair, Biggin Hill Airport Ltd CEO, pilots qualified in a variety of aircraft types and the London Borough of Bromley airport monitoring officer. The board may request that the pilot submit a report or appear before the board, award a written warning, fine or a ban from operating at Biggin Hill.
